LAFCO is seeking to develop a regional strategy for growth in the County through a planning effort with partners and cities. Conservation Blueprint platform and additional data will be used to help identify properties for protection/conservation (and alternatively, properties more appropriate for growth/development) based natural resources, biodiversity, fire risk, ag land protection, other limitations, etc. Partners identified to potentially help with the project might include CRCD, Wildfire Resilience Collaborative, Land Trust, SB Botanic Garden, Fire Agencies, and additional ag orgs. The ultimate outcomes would be to develop MOUs with the cities and create policies that would help guide future growth.
